Ongoing

With the support of MOM, SLA, and NParks, our Local Integration team successfully launched WIMBY's pilot event "An Afternoon Out" on 30 Oct 2020. Local Bukit Batok residents had a chance to bond with MWs housed at Jalan Jurong Kechil through shared conversations and fun activities organised by coaches from ActiveSG.

A similar "Afternoon Out" was held on 29 Dec 2020 at the same rehoused site.

Stay tuned for more!

Birthday/Backyard Makan

Ongoing

Backyard Makan was first organised in Dec 2020 as a pay-it-forward initiative to foster a welcoming and giving spirit towards MWs rehoused in the Queensway and Ghim Moh areas.

Residents were invited to sponsor bakes from partner bakeries and raised a total of 511 bakes, which were delivered to multiple rehoused sites.

A similar Birthday Makan campaign was carried out from April - June 2021 in celebration of WIMBY's first anniversary and close to 2100 bakes were sponsored by the public!

The WIMBY team is working on distributing the bakes at dormitories across Singapore.

WIMBY Writes Home

Ongoing

WIMBY Writes Home was first organised in May 2021 to support MWs in writing home to their families.

During a time of isolation and separation, WIMBY hoped to share some care and concern from Singaporeans and help MWs to send something tangible back to their loved ones, with a small 'Singapore' flair thanks to the Singaporean designers involved.

The initiative concluded with over 800 postcards sponsored. The postcards are currently being distributed at dorms across Singapore.
