Our Local Integration team invites you to post Welcome Notes on this website under the "Welcome Notes" tab, or on your own social media.
These are messages of encouragement for our new MW neighbours.
We have collected more than 1000 Welcome Notes, which we translate and distribute to MWs. These notes are available for all to view here.
Our Local Integration Team has been engaging schools on issues affecting our MWs.
Long-term partnerships have been forged through the Values-In-Action programme.
Schools such as Yuan Ching Secondary School and Geylang Methodist Secondary School have partnered with WIMBY to reach out to their new MW neighbours.
Mental Health Campaign
Our National Advocacy team is collaborating with MaidforMore, SG Climate Rally, and CRL Response Team to shed light on the mental health needs of MWs.
Project Open Doors was launched on 10.10.2020 (World Mental Health Day), along with a petition "One Day Out" that aims to restore the freedom of male migrant workers.

An Afternoon Out
With the support of MOM, SLA, and NParks, our Local Integration team successfully launched WIMBY's pilot event "An Afternoon Out" on 30 Oct 2020. Local Bukit Batok residents had a chance to bond with migrant workers housed at Jalan Jurong Kechil through shared conversations and fun activities organised by coaches from ActiveSG.
A similar "Afternoon Out" was held on 29 Dec 2020 at the same rehoused site.
Stay tuned for more!
Backyard Makan was first organised in Dec 2020 as a pay-it-forward initiative to foster a welcoming and giving spirit towards migrant workers rehoused in the Queensway and Ghim Moh areas.
Residents were invited to sponsor bakes from partner bakeries and raised a total of 511 bakes, which have since been delivered to various sites.
A similar Birthday Makan campaign is currently ongoing and we are inviting you to sponsor a bake today!
WIMBY Writes Home
WIMBY Writes Home was first organised in May 2021 to support migrant workers in writing home to their families.
During a time of isolation and separation, WIMBY hoped to share some care and concern from Singaporeans and help migrant workers to send something tangible back to their loved ones, with a small 'Singapore' flair thanks to the Singaporean designers involved.
The initiative concluded with over 800 postcards sponsored. The postcards are currently being distributed at dorms across Singapore.
Our National Advocacy team had curated short videos to address unanswered questions from our Backyard Conversations initiative.
Our MW panellists utilised this platform to talk about their lives, including what they do on their off days, how dating is like for MWs, and much more!
Our National Advocacy team had organised panel discussions titled "Backyard Conversations".
Panellists including MWs were invited to share about their experiences dealing with COVID-19 and exclusion, providing a platform for our audience to learn more about their lived realities.
